Lancashire Holdings Limited was incorporated in Bermuda on 12 October 2005. It was admitted to the Official List and its common shares to trading on the main market of the London Stock Exchange in 2009. The Company's Board of Directors is responsible for the leadership and control and the long-term success of the Group's business. It measures its corporate governance compliance against the requirements of the UK Governance Code.

The Board has reserved a number of matters for its decision, including responsibility for setting the Group’s values and standards, and approval of the Group’s strategic aims and objectives. The Board and its committees meet on at least a quarterly basis with management providing the information necessary for it to fulfil their respective responsibilities. The Board also meets to discuss strategic planning matters in addition to the customary schedule of quarterly meetings.

Lancashire Insurance Company Limited and Lancashire Insurance Company (UK) Limited provide insurance and reinsurance products to the Group’s customers, with an emphasis on the property, energy, marine and aviation lines of business. Lancashire Insurance Company Limited was incorporated under the laws of Bermuda on 28 October 2005 and is authorised and regulated by the BMA as a Class 4 general insurer under the Bermuda Insurance Act. Lancashire Insurance Company (UK) Limited was incorporated under the laws of England and Wales on 17 March 2006 and is authorised by the Prudential Regulation Authority and regulated by the Prudential Regulation Authority and Financial Conduct Authority to underwrite certain classes of general insurance business in the U.K.

Lancashire Syndicates Limited is an established Lloyd’s managing agent that writes insurance and reinsurance business in property direct and facultative, property reinsurance, marine, cargo, energy, terrorism, aviation reinsurance, power and utilities, aviation and satellite classes. Lancashire Syndicates Limited is authorised by the Prudential Regulation Authority and regulated by the Financial Conduct Authority and the Prudential Regulation Authority and manages the Syndicates. Lancashire Syndicates provides Lancashire with an underwriting platform within the Lloyd’s market, and further diversifies the Group’s lines of insurance business. Worldwide licensing maintained by Lloyd’s allows Lancashire to write business worldwide with limited regulatory overheads.

Lancashire Capital Management is a majority-owned and controlled subsidiary of the Group established to manage third-party capital reinsurance initiatives on behalf of Lancashire. Lancashire Capital Management was incorporated on 4 June 2013 and acts as the underwriting agent for a special purpose insurer (Kinesis Reinsurance I Limited) organised under the laws of Bermuda.
